— The Lodge / Welcome Home

Where everyone fits,
and no one is in the way.

A four-bedroom log lodge at the end of a quiet road in central Illinois — rebuilt from the floors up for the kind of weekends you actually remember.

Great room with vaulted ceilings

Firefly Lodge sits at the end of a quiet road in central Illinois, the last house before the trees give way to Lake Shelbyville. We rebuilt it from the floors up with one idea in mind — a place where multiple generations can vacation under one roof without anyone feeling crowded.

The main floor is the social heart: a vaulted great room with a sage-and-butcher-block kitchen, a dining table that seats ten, and two bedrooms with their own full baths. Upstairs, a sun-soaked loft sleeps three with its own balcony.

Came for a getaway from the city and really felt restored. The lodge is beautiful, well kept, and super comfortable. — Five-Star Guest Review

Downstairs lives a separate world — a private queen suite, a bunk room that sleeps nine, and a lounge with neon, pool, and a full bar where the grown-ups can stay up after bedtime stories end.

Fire pit at sunset with Adirondack chairs
— What no one else can offer

The only home on the lake with a path of your own.

Out the back door, past the fire pit, down through the oaks — a walking trail leads to a stretch of Lake Shelbyville shoreline that's effectively yours for the week.

The public boat launch is a stone's throw away, and three full-service marinas are within fifteen minutes. Show up with a swimsuit; we'll point you to the rest.

— Serene, relaxing, and peaceful. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and all the room this lodge had. —

Firefly Lodge
How many people does the lodge sleep? +

Fifteen comfortably in beds — two private queen suites, a loft with a queen and twin, and a bunk room sleeping nine. Three full bathrooms mean no waiting in line for the shower. We can host a few additional guests on the lower-level couches for an added nightly fee — reach out before booking and we'll work out the details.

Is the lake walkable from the house? +

Yes. A private path runs from the back of the property through the oaks to a quiet stretch of Lake Shelbyville shoreline. The walk takes about a minute. We're the only home on this side with direct access.

Can we rent a boat nearby? +

Three full-service marinas are within fifteen minutes. They rent pontoons, fishing boats, wave runners, kayaks, and paddleboards. We keep current contact info in the welcome book at the lodge. The public boat launch is a stone's throw away if you bring your own.

Is it family-friendly? +

Very much so. The bunk room sleeps nine, the yard is open and grassy for games, and the basement lounge is intentionally on a different floor — designed so adults can stay up after the kids go down without waking anyone. We can leave a high chair, pack-n-play, and games out on request.

What's included with the stay? +

Linens, towels, coffee and filters, soap and toiletries, full kitchen stocking, bar glassware and cocktail tools, firewood for the fire pit, Wi-Fi, and a welcome book with our favorite local restaurants, marinas, and attractions. Bring food, drinks, and a sense of pace.

Is it pet-friendly? +

Unfortunately, the lodge isn't pet-friendly — with one exception. We welcome certified service animals as required by law. If you're traveling with a service animal, let us know at the time of booking so we can prepare the lodge for your stay.

How does check-in work? +

Self check-in via smart lock — no key handoffs, no awkward meet-ups. Door code is sent the morning of arrival. Check-in is 4 PM, check-out 11 AM. We have a professional team that turns the lodge between every stay, and we live nearby in case anything comes up.
